Prowl

2020
PERFORMANCE, MOUNT GREENWOOD, IL
HD VIDEO RECORDING;
DURATION: 7:47

During this 90-minute piece, the artist provoked layers of surveillance by having black and brown performers drive slowly through Mount Greenwood, Chicago, where many police officers reside. The drivers (in a caravan of twenty vehicles) observed the neighborhood quietly while being observed, in return, by uniformed police. Tensions rose as police and residents sought to gain control over the situation.
