Loosely based on the ‘slave galley’ scenes from the old Hollywood movies, this work is a re-contextualization of labor and struggle.
Daryl Atwell, is the lead rower in this performance. His position up-front is essential for pacing and order in the first half of the work.
The participants are a loose assortment of a variety of D.C. community members. A doctor, a few artists, a technical writer, and a self described ‘dealer’, makes up the performers of this work.
